She came to Medford because of connections to the Bear Creek Corp. Marketing teacher Aaron Rayburn said one of his students, senior Ashley Williams of Medford, knows Bill Ihle, spokesman at Bear Creek Corporation, and Ihle set up the meeting with Ferraro. Ferraro works for the Global Consulting Group, which does public relations for Yamanouchi of Pleasanton, Calif., parent company of Bear Creek. "She talked about how she’s had several careers and how you have to take a risk to improve yourself," said Rayburn. Vice Principal Rick Parsagian said he was amazed to see Ferraro, remembering her campaign in 1984 with presidential nominee Walter Mondale against President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George Bush. "I was like a little kid going, ‘Holy cow,’" said Parsagian. Rayburn said Richard Wolf, chief executive officer with Global Consulting Corporation, also talked to the students about marketing and public relations.
