The body of Ivanette A. Villasenor, of Grants Pass, was found in the Rogue near Horseshoe Bend, about 12 miles downstream of Grave Creek, according to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Department. Villasenor’s white Cadillac was found at the Grave Creek boat ramp and rescue dogs tracked her to the water’s edge, deputies said. A preliminary inspection of the body showed no signs of foul play, and investigators were still working to determine the cause of her death, deputies said. On Thursday, a helicopter piloted by James E. Marks and manned by Josephine County Sheriff’s Deputy Tom Rice crashed into the Rogue after it struck an abandoned utility line spanning the river, deputies said. Rice, a marine deputy, and Marks, a pilot from Kingman, Ariz., were pronounced dead at the scene in the two-seat helicopter. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. The crash site was near the OK Corral, about 15 river miles upstream of Grave Creek. Sheriff’s deputies have yet to say why Marks and Rice were flying low over the Rogue that far upstream of where Villasenor’s car was found.
