SOU softball sustains setback ASHLAND - The Southern Oregon University softball team took a giant step backwards in its quest for an NAIA regional tournament berth on Sunday. The Raiders suffered a 6-0 Cascade Conference loss to 17th-ranked Oregon Tech then dropped a 9-0 non-league decision in the second half of the regular-season-ending doubleheader. SOU's only hope to extend its season into next weekend's four-team regional affair is a Concordia three-game sweep at third-place Eastern Oregon. The Cavaliers took two games from EOU on Sunday and complete the series with a game today. The Owls, who clinched the league title by winning two of three weekend conference clashes, touched up SOU starter Tasha Ford for 13 hits and sprang their third consecutive shutout of the Raiders in the nightcap.
