The money will be donated to UNICEF for medical supplies, educational items, water-purifying kits and more to children affected by the Indian Ocean tsunamis, said Andrew Ainsworth, a senior at Ashland High School. He and Christina Lacy, a junior, organized the event. About 150 people attended the event, which featured local musicians, he said. The show included a cello choir featuring Allegra Archer, jazz guitarist Jaxon Williams, singer Tucker Reed backed by Turned Up Missing, Lacy as a solo pianist, piano and violin duo Hana Jensen and Lisa Chung, local pianist Jim Quimby, jazz trio Back Porch Swing, and the rock/blues group Wild Goose Chase Trio. Many local businesses donated items for a raffle.
