Olson, 70, passed away January 14, 2015 at RVMC due to complications from pneumonia. He and his twin brother, Larry, were born February 25, 1944 in the family farm house during a blizzard in South Dakota. Garry graduated from SOC after serving three years in the U.S. Army. Garry was a master craftsman rebuilding pianos, furniture, and other items of interest. Garry was also directly involved in several business enterprises with his brother Larry. Survivors include his fiancee, Nancy Smesrud; his sister, Mary Ann (John); brothers, Ronald (Lynn), Rodney (June), Larry (Nancy), Marvin (Cindy), and Dennis (Charlotte); along with several nieces and nephews. Garry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian; and his parents, Walter and Iva Olson. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., January 30, 2015 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Potluck to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Oregon Youth Programs (Kids Can), P.O. Box 186, Trail, OR 97541. Arrangements through Perl Funeral Home, Medford, Oregon.
