Two charged with plotting to steal SUV Two local men who allegedly planned to steal a Cadillac from a Medford car lot and sell the vehicle in California were foiled by Medford police Friday. Muamai Alexander Galo, 20, of Grants Pass, was arrested along with Meghel Elwyn Allen, 21, of the 300 block of Benson Street, Medford Friday afternoon. Galo and Allen were charged with conspiracy to commit unauthorized entry into a vehicle and attempted unauthorized entry into a vehicle. They were lodged in the Jackson County Jail, each in lieu of $9,000 bail. Lt. Mike Moran said police received were tipped off Friday morning that Galo and Allen wanted to steal a Cadillac Escalade - a sports utility vehicle valued at $41,900 - from the Skinner Buick Cadillac Pontiac car lot on South Pacific Highway. Moran said police set up a surveillance on the two men, which paid off a few hours later. Skinner saleman Tim Vogelpohl said Medford police notified the employees about the potential danger. "We knew what was going on all the time and when they came in," Vogelpohl said. "They were just acting like regular customers." After the men left the car lot, Moran said police officers pulled them over. "They left the lot and were stopped and found to be in the possession of stolen keys for a Cadillac Escalade," Moran said. Moran said police are investigating the possibility that Allen and Galo committed similar crimes in the past.
