Restaurants donate to SMART May 17, 2016 12:00 AM A A Local report Eight local restaurants have pledged a portion of their proceeds on Wednesday, May 18, to Rogue Valley SMART, which provides reading mentors in area pre-schools and elementary schools. Participating restaurants are: Medford — Bambu, 970 N. Phoenix Road; Wild River Brewing & Pizza, 2684 N. Pacific Highway. Ashland — Greenleaf Restaurant , 49 N Main St. Talent — The Grotto, 302 E Main St. Rogue River — Baci’s Pizza & Pasta, 501 E Main St. Grants Pass — Wild River Brewing & Pizza, 595 NE “E” St.; Wild River Pub, 533 NE “F” St. Cave Junction — Wild River Brewing & Pizza, 249 N. Redwood Highway. SMART matches adult volunteers with students in pre-school through third grade for weekly reading sessions and gives participating students two books to keep each month.
