Since You Asked: National Weather Service site has historical rainfall data Friday Apr 28, 2017 at 12:01 AM I have been trying to find a list of the annual rainfall in Medford for the past few years, such as going back to 1964. I have spent hours on Google trying to find this. — Linda, Rogue River   Your years-long search is over, Linda, thanks to Brett Lutz, meteorologist and forecaster with the National Weather Service office in Medford. He offered the following instructions for accessing historical weather data. To look up decades' worth of annual rainfall data for the Medford area, Ashland, Prospect, Grants Pass and other sites, start by visiting w2.weather.gov/climate/xmacis.php?wfo=mfr and selecting a location, such as the Medford area. Then choose "Monthly Summarized Data" from the "Product" category. Enter your year range in the "Options" category, such as 1964-2017. Choose "Precipitation" in the "Variable" category. Click "Go." Monthly precipitation measurements will pop up on a chart. At the end of each row is the annual total. For 1964, Medford area rainfall was 29.08 inches. Another useful site for people curious about the weather is the NWS list of "Medford Top 10s," located at www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/climo/Medfordtop10.php?wfo=mfr. The public can see the top 10 monthly extremes for highest average temperature, lowest average temperature, highest precipitation and lowest precipitation. For example, the most April rainfall was in 1912, when 4.4 inches fell.
