John Wesley Nelson Friday Dec 9, 2016 at 2:00 AM January 22, 1923 - November 25, 2016 John Wesley Nelson, 93, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 in Medford, Ore. He was born January 22, 1923 to Edwin and Lillian Nelson in Minot, N.D. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Army Air Force and served from April 1942 - November 1945 and was stationed in many places around the world including Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. After serving our country he settled in Medford where he met and married Pearl Naoma Scoville who preceded him in death in 2009. Together they had four children, Teresa Bonney of Tiller, Ore who passed away in 2013; Ed Nelson of Wichita, Kans.; John Nelson of Central Point, Ore; and Linda Taylor of Eagle Point, Ore. They had 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. John was a contractor and excellent carpenter who, with the help of his brother and business partner, Fred, built many fine homes in the Rogue Valley. Arrangements are in care of Hillcrest Mortuary. A private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
