False alarm causes high school lockdown By Ashland Tidings staff Sep 16, 2019 04:44 PM A A The Ashland High School went on lock down Monday afternoon due to reported suspicious activity. Nothing was found, and the lockdown was lifted about 45 minutes later. Around 3 p.m., the Ashland Police Department received an anonymous call saying that a person was walking toward Ashland High School about two blocks away wearing a bullet proof vest. Several officers responded and advised administration to put the school on lockdown. Officers double-checked the campus during the lockdown and surrounding area. During the second sweep police talked to the initial caller who said they did not see a weapon, and the person may not have even been wearing body armor. The lockdown was lifted, and officers remained on campus while students and faculty left. Misc emergency.jpg
