She moved with her family to Applegate, Ore. in 1984. Katie attended Applegate Elementary School and South Medford High School, graduating class of 1996. She was an active member of the music and drama programs in high school and performed in several musicals including “Into the Woods” as Cinderella and “Anything Goes” as Hope Harcourt. She had the honor of singing at the OMEA All State Choir and participated in the solo and ensemble contests. Katie earned her AA degree at Rogue Community College. Katie was also a member of Ruch Community Bible Church and sang in the church choir. Her love for the Lord was a huge part of her life, evident to all who knew her. Katie also served on the Pear Blossom Board from 1997 to 2015. Katie worked for nearly 15 years as a 911 dispatcher for Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, retiring in Dec. 2014. She received several accolades for her work achievements and thrived in the high energy atmosphere of emergency services. In addition to her career as a dispatcher, Katie worked for several years as an EMT for American Medical Response and volunteered for the Applegate Fire District. During her employment at AMR she met her husband, Scott Marical. They married September 8, 2001, as best of friends and remained completely devoted to one another. Her lifelong dream of becoming a mother was realized in 2004 when their first daughter, Grace was born. They later welcomed two more children, Becca and Zack into their beautiful family. Katie is survived by her husband, Scott; her children, Grace (11), Becca (6), and Zack (4); her parents, Steve and Maria Lehnhardt; and sisters, Julie Lehnhardt and Natalie Schroeder (Brian and niece, Allison); in-laws, Bill and Chris Marical; brothers-in-law, Mike Marical and Tim Marical; aunt, Trish Hackleman (Paul, Chris, Cory and Carin); uncle, Michael Norton (Annette and Spencer); and a large extended family, both blood and blue. She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Ruch Community Bible Church.
