Grants Pass man faces federal charges for destroying property at Planned Parenthood clinic Updated: Feb 25, 2022 12:04 PM A A Two incidents occurred in November of 2021 A Grants Pass man faces federal charges after twice breaking windows and destroying property at a Planned Parenthood clinic, also in Grants Pass. The suspect, Devin Friedrick Kruse, 26, a Grants Pass resident, acted against the clinic because it provides reproductive health services, according to the United States Attorney’s Office - District of Oregon. Kruse has been charged by misdemeanor criminal information with two counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, also known as FACE. According to court documents, on Nov. 23, Kruse is alleged to have intentionally broken security cameras and a window at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Grants Pass. The suspect returned three days later, on Nov. 26, when he threw a concrete block through a window at the clinic and tore down the clinic’s intercom system. Misdemeanor violations of the FACE Act are punishable by up to one year in federal prison. This case was investigated by the FBI with assistance from the Grants Pass Police Department. Congress passed the FACE Act in response to an increase in violence toward patients and providers of reproductive health services. The FACE Act prohibits violent, threatening, damaging and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with an individual’s right to seek, obtain, or provide reproductive health services.
