Crispin wins four races at GP Downs May 24, 1999 12:00 AM A A GRANTS PASS -- Jockey Joe Crispin rode four straight winners and finished with four victories during Sunday's 10 races at Grants Pass Downs. Crispin, the leading jockey this past season at Portland Meadows, guided Judge Me Rapid to victory in the third-race quarter horse futurity trial, followed by a winning ride on Wonders Judge Cash in another futurity trial race. He then saddled up Shadyla in a 4 1/2-furlong claiming race, producing a 9.80, 4.20 and 2.80 return. Crispin's final victory of the day, giving him six in GPD's first weekend, was aboard First Star in the 5 1/2-furlong eighth race. Toowildtodrive, ridden by Todd Skaggs won the featured Southern Belle Handicap for fillies and mares, covering 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:19.06.
