Central Point police arrested Sword late Monday on a charge of possession of amphetamines. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $5,000 bail, but was released on his own recognizance Tuesday morning. Warrant — Clell William Meredith, 37, of the 3400 block of Sams Valley Road, Gold Hill. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy arrested Meredith late Monday on several warrants charging him with probation violation and on a charge of possession of amphetamine. He was lodged in the jail, then released Tuesday morning on his own recognizance. Crime reports Prostitution — 2200 block of Highway 99 North, Ashland. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy took a report of a man who had been paying for massages, which had turned more intimate with each visit. After several visits, the alleged masseuse told her client that she had a disease he needed to know about before things went any further. He then reported the incidents to the sheriff’s office, Capt. Joe Puckett said. The case has been referred to the district attorney. Theft — 1200 block of Gardendale Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of a theft of a digital camera, a video camera and a socket wrench set. The items reportedly taken had an estimated value of $3,500. Burglary — 100 block of Maple Street, Ashland. Ashland police took a report of a break-in and theft of $80 cash from a doctor’s office.
