Brian Basler Mullen Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Nov. 16, 2014 at 2:00 AM Posted Nov. 16, 2014 at 2:00 AM » Social News Brian Mullen passed away October 1, 2014 in the Nevada State Veterans' Home in Boulder City. He was born in 1931 in McLean County, Ky. to N.B. and Marion Basler Mullen. He attended public schools in Cape Girardeau, Mo. graduating in 1948 from high school and from Southeast Missouri State in 1954 with a BA degree. Upon receipt of a law degree from the University of Missouri, he served in the U.S. Army's Counter Intelligence Corps stationed in New York City. There he met Mary Margaret Culliney. They were married in 1958 in Charleston, W.Va. Thereafter he practiced law in the firm of Collins, Redden, and Mullen in Medford. He belonged to Westminster Presbyterian Church, was active in Rotary Club, and presided over the Britt Festival's founding board of directors. In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Peggy (Mullen) Tarkalson and Bruce Mullen of Henderson, Nev.; three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Madison, and Christian Mullen; brothers, Jay of Medford and Jack of San Francisco; and sister, Marilyn Snowden of Jacksonville. A son, Bryan Hunter, preceded him in death. A celebration of Brian's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
