Police: Talent man intentionally ran over victim Robert Lee Chaffee Friday Oct 7, 2016 at 11:37 AM Oct 7, 2016 at 12:40 PM Vickie Aldous Mail Tribune @VickieAldous A Talent man has been charged with attempted murder after police said he intentionally ran over a person, causing severe injuries. Robert Lee Chaffee, 62, of the 200 block of West Rapp Road, is also facing charges of first-degree assault and second-degree assault in Jackson County Circuit Court. According to an affidavit, Chaffee drove to Clover Road in Phoenix Wednesday to confront Richard Hoglen, 47. After an argument with Hoglen at his front gate, Chaffee allegedly left and drove down the road, then turned around and rammed the gate with Hoglen behind it, the affidavit said. Chaffee's vehicle reportedly traveled through the gate and over Hoglen, who was transported by Mercy Flight paramedics to a hospital with substantial injuries to his face, legs and ribs, the affidavit said. Chaffee admitted that he lost his temper and rammed the gate and Hoglen, the affidavit said. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $1 million bail. In 2014, Chaffee was convicted of harassment after he got in an argument with his girlfriend during a break-up and threatened her with an electronic cattle prod when she tried to leave with a vacuum. He then shoved her into a table, according to court records and a probable cause affidavit. In 2010, he was convicted of possession of marijuana, and in 2005 he was convicted of harassment and interference with making a report, according to court records.
