The scheduled nine-inning Oregon Baseball Association game was called after seven due to the 10-run mercy rule. Ken Halpin and Ed Dillahay also had three hits apiece, while Steve DeClerck, Mike Newmann and Beasly each knocked in three runs. The RiverDogs (32-13, 15-7 OBA) scored nine times in the second inning then pushed across five more runs in the fourth with Beasly’s two-run shot contributing to the onslaught. Little League 9-10-YEAR-OLD STATE TOURNAMENT — At Klamath Falls, Colin Sowers had a two-run home run but it wasn’t enough as Medford American fell to Beaverton’s Murray Hill squad, 10-6 in the eight-team tournament. Medford, now 1-1 in tournament action, plays Pendleton today at 6 p.m. Murray Hill led 4-1 and 10-2 before Medford rallied back. Matt Maurer went 3-for-3 with two triples, while Cody James and Sowers each scored two runs. Medford defeated Roseburg, 13-2, in Saturday’s opening game with Michael Paxton contributing three hits. 11-12-YEAR-OLD STATE TOURNAMENT — At Salem, John Adamson keyed a seven-run second inning with a grand slam home run to lead Medford American to an 11-2 win over Bend North. Medford plays Parrish of Salem on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a semifinal contest. Andrew Bennett, Chris Bradshaw, Griffin Boyd and Haydon Wolf each had two hits for Medford. Little League Softball 9-10-YEAR-OLD STATE TOURNAMENT — At Milton Freewater, Medford American fell into the losers’ bracket after a 16-15 loss to Crook County in the eight-team tournament.
