Emergency services, Jan. 5 Thursday Jan 5, 2017 at 12:05 AM Felony arrests Witness Tampering — William Lester Haines, 46, no known address. Medford police arrested Haines Wednesday on an additional felony charge of tampering with a witness and an additional misdemeanor charge of violating a no-contact order. Jackson County sheriff's deputies originally arrested Haines Dec. 13 on charges of felony fourth-degree assault assault and carrying a dangerous weapon. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday on $190,000 bail. Drugs — Bernie George Helms, 26, of the 300 block of B Street, Phoenix. Phoenix police arrested Helms Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing heroin, a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police and for violating his parole on a previous meth-possession conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Vehicle Theft — Darion Jeffrey Ward, 52, of the 1200 block of Shafer Lane, Medford. Medford police arrested Ward Wednesday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and for violating his parole on a previous first-degree criminal mistreatment conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Drugs — Aaron Jovan Criss, 34, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Criss Wednesday on felony charges of possessing heroin and attempting to elude police in a vehicle, and for violating his parole on a previous weapons conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Crime reports Theft — 2400 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a smartphone, Michael Kors black purse and a Michael Kors petite women's watch in rose gold tones. The loss and damage to the vehicle's passenger-side window and door frame was valued at $1,800.
