February 02. 2016 7:00AM Central Point School District on 2-hour delay because of snow The Central Point School District will start classes two hours late today because of overnight snowfall in the Rogue Valley. Classes will start at 10:45 a.m., according to a news release. This includes all Jackson County EI/ECSE classes at Patrick Elementary in Gold Hill.  The Medford School District is operating as normal, though some bus routes may be delayed because of snow and ice on the roads, according to the district's website. No additional delays have been reported thus far.  About an inch of snow fell in Central Point and nearby Medford overnight, according to the National Weather Service. About two inches fell at Agate Lake, weather officials said. A winter weather advisory, issued when periods of snow can cause travel difficulties for drivers, will remain in effect until 9 a.m. The advisory estimated 1-inch accumulations on the valley floors in areas above 1,500 feet in elevation, though snow could fall on areas as low as 1,000 feet.  Weather officials urged caution for motorists because of spots of ice.
