According to that story, William Richardson, head of maintenance for Ashland School District, and Alan Koebrick, a self-employed carpet installer, pleaded guilty to illegally removing floor tiles containing asbestos from Walker Elementary School in 1999. Their sentencing was set for May 10, 2004, in District Court. But like so many other court matters, the hearing was postponed until July 2004. District Court Judge Michael Hogan ordered the two men to serve three years on probation with six months home detention under electronic monitoring.
