Pearl Virginia Teeter Friday Dec 30, 2016 at 2:00 AM November 26, 1909 - December 21, 2016  Pearl Virginia Teeter passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at her Medford home. She celebrated her 107th birthday just weeks earlier. She was born November 26, 1909 to Martin and Mathilda Johnson in Bothell, Washington. Her parents and four of her five siblings emigrated from Norway several years before she was born. She and her siblings were orphaned at an early age and she was adopted by Archie and Julia Allan when she was five years old. Pearl was a graduate of Whitman College with an English major and piano minor. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority and the National Honor Society. In 1935 she married Kenneth Teeter in Anacortes, Wash. Two of their daughters were born in Anacortes, one in Hood River, Oregon and the fourth in Medford where they had moved in about 1943. Ken was a distributor for Texaco Oil Company for many years. Golf was a passion for Pearl and she was a member of women’s golf groups at Rogue Valley Country Club, Cedar Links, and later, Stewart Meadows. She was a member of Lady Lions and volunteered for Loaves and Fishes as well as the SMART Reading program. Her favorite pastimes were playing organ and piano, gardening, sewing, reading, working crossword puzzles, and beating her daughters at Scrabble. Pearl is survived by four daughters, Jeannine Napuunoa (Nap), Sylvia Parks (Jim), Linda O’Malley (Rick), and Virginia Slifcak (Mike); 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her five siblings and her husband, Ken. She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed by her loving family. We are very grateful for Lin, Carmen and others who provided the excellent care that enabled her to remain in her own home. We plan to hold a celebration of her life in early Spring, 2017. Arrangements by Conger Morris.  Memorial contributions may be made to Whitman College, 345 Boyer Ave. Walla Walla, Wash. 99362.
