Albertson rockets past SOU CALDWELL, Idaho � Albertson College�s hot hand cooled off Southern Oregon Friday night in Cascade Conference men�s basketball. Albertson converted 71 percent of its shots in the first half and 58 percent for the game en route to an 85-56 spanking of the Raiders. Southern Oregon shot only 21 percent in the first half and 35 percent for the game. The Raiders trailed by 25 points at halftime. "They ran their stuff and got pretty good looks and didn�t miss very many of them," said SOU coach Brian McDermott. "On the other hand, we were a little impatient and our looks were a lot tougher. We tried to get shots too early on in the offense." Neal Robertson was 7-for-10 from 3-point range and led four Albertson players in double figures with 30 points. Ty Shaw added 14, Dave Webb 11 and Tennison Tripple 10 for Albertson, which improved to 17-10 overall and 10-4 in league. "They have so many kids who can shoot it that it makes it real difficult to defend them," said McDermott. "We just haven�t played well over here, and we ran into a buzzsaw tonight." Tom Chipps led SOU (16-10, 10-5 Cascade) with 13 points, doing most of his damage from the free-throw line. Chipps was 7 of 9 from the charity stripe to help make up for a 3-for-11 night from the field.
