Free HAM radio license classes offered Sep 10, 2014 12:00 AM A A The Jackson County Amateur Radio Emergency Service will host two free series of amateur radio license classes this fall. Both class sessions are held 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Jackson County Fire District No. 5, 5811 S. Pacific Highway in Phoenix. Technician license classes will be held Sept. 18 and 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 18, concluding with a test session Oct. 25. The general license classes will be held Oct. 30, Nov. 6, 13, and 20, and Dec. 4 and 11 with a concluding test Dec. 13. Study manuals must be purchased separately.
