Dunn leads Tornado to easy triumph Emily Dunn's three individual victories helped the North Medford girls post a 100-45 win over Grants Pass in a Southern Oregon Conference track meet at Bowerman Field Thursday. Grants Pass reversed the tables in the boys' meet, 85-60. Besides Dunn's victories in the 100, long jump and triple jump, the sophomore also ran a leg on the Tornado winning 4x100 relay team. Sarah Rountree turned in a big performance for North in the 300 hurdles. Rountree's winning mark of 48.8 seconds ranks second in the SOC this season. In the 200, North's Jennifer Abbott edged teammate Brittany Hodges. Abbott registered a fast time of 25.5, while Hodges came in at 25.6. In boys, North Medford senior Matt Parish won the 200 with a personal-best time of 21.9. In one of the more competitive races, Rodney Hicks of Grants Pass won the 110 hurdles over North's Chris Vorgang. Both runners were timed at 14.9 - a personal best for Vorgang. North's Scott Myers went over the 60-foot mark in the shot put for the fifth straight time. Myers, who has the state-best mark of 62-11, won the event at 60-41/4. SOUTH SWEEPS EAGLES - Cameron Gallop won two throws and Matt Griffiths both horizontal jumps to lead South Medford's boys to a 104-41 win over Eagle Point. The Panther girls, meanwhile, got a pair of wins from jumper Teri Silva and downed the Eagles 90-51. Among the boys highlights, Robbie Johnston of Eagle Point cleared 13-6 in the pole vault and Justin Baldoni of South went 22.7 in the 200 meters.
