Klenke leads South past North Eugene EUGENE - Jonathan Klenke scored the game's only goal with one minute left to play as South Medford downed North Eugene 1-0 in non-league soccer Wednesday. The goal came when Klenke attempted a crossing pass to a teammate and the ball deflected off a North Eugene player and into the goal mouth. "Jon battled his way through three defenders and cut the ball towards the goal," South Medford coach Dave Potter said. "I'm sure they'll call it an own but I'm going to give it to Jon. He worked awfully hard for that." North Eugene went into a defensive mode from the get-go and managed to get off only one shot during the match. South Medford launched 12 shots. "It's an interesting style of soccer," Potter said. "We saw it earlier against Sheldon." Fullbacks Adam Walport and Cody George and midfielders Daniel Hathaway, Ryan Wallenberg and Dan Potter all had strong outings.
