High winds forecast for Rogue Valley Friday Wednesday Apr 5, 2017 at 11:44 AM Apr 5, 2017 at 12:27 PM The weekend is expected to kick off with some breezy weather in the Rogue Valley. A wind advisory is in effect from 2 to 11 a.m. Friday, with southeast winds of up to 30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph expected, according to a National Weather Service bulletin. Strong winds are expected to develop Thursday night near Ashland, gradually spreading into the Medford area by Friday morning, where they are expected to gain speed. Medford, Ashland, Central Point, Phoenix and Interstate 5 from the Siskiyou Summit to Blackwell Road are included in the advisory. Motorists, especially those in high-profile vehicles, should exercise caution while driving, and property should be secured, the bulletin suggested.
