Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend December 16, 2005 Transient arrested in homicide CAVE JUNCTION — Police here have arrested an area transient on a homicide charge in connection with a body found in a burnt-out home early Tuesday, police said. Josephine County sheriff’s detectives determined Thursday that a fire set at a home in the 200 block of Caves Avenue was arson. The victim’s car was taken from the scene and later located by police in the Illinois Valley. Benjamin Allen Tolle, 28, was found with the car and arrested on burglary warrants. Police believe he was responsible for the fire set at the home belonging to 28-year-old Curtis Dylan Willie, officials said in a news release. Willie has yet to be identified as the victim. Police are still waiting for his dental records before announcing a positive identification, officials said. Willie rented the mobile home and reportedly lived there alone. Police learned that he owned two cars, one of which, a 1995 Chrysler La Baron, was not found at the scene. This was the car found with Tolle in the Illinois Valley, officials said. The body removed from the home matched Willie’s physical description. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week. Detectives have contacted Willie’s family in Oklahoma and they are cooperating in the investigation, officials said.
