Blazers streak past Spartans Feb 17, 2018 12:00 AM A A By the time Southern Oregon got on the scoreboard, it was too late for the Spartans after the Bellingham Blazers had scored the contest’s first four goals en route to a 5-1 Western States Hockey League victory Friday at The RRRink. Harmen Vining connected for the Spartans at the 10-minute mark in the second period before the Blazers (21-21) tallied their fourth goal of the frame to go up 5-1 prior to a scoreless third period. The defeat in the first of a three-game series dropped the Spartans to 11-32 overall — the team’s fourth-straight loss.
