"It is extremely slow," she said. Beckett expects a fairly low turnout because many special district board positions are uncontested. "I’ve had people tell me they are choosing not to send their ballots in on those," she said. Beckett doesn’t like to see that. She notes that school board members and people serving on boards at fire, water and transportation districts are responsible for "spending a lot of your tax money" and are among the most accessible of elected officials. "These are the people closest to us," she said. "You can reach out and call them." Advertisement Ballots will be collected until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Drop boxes are available 24 hours a day at the county elections office, 1101 W. Main St., Medford, and the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The following libraries have drop boxes available during regular library hours and until 8 p.m. Tuesday: Central Point Library, 226 E. Pine St., Central Point. Eagle Point Library, 158 W. Main St., Eagle Point. Jacksonville Library, 340 W. C St., Jacksonville. Phoenix Library, 110 W. Second St., Phoenix. Rogue River Library, 412 E. Main St., Rogue River. Shady Cove Library, 22477 Highway 62, Shady Cove. Talent Library, 105 I St., Talent.
