Roseburg ekes past Ashland ASHLAND � Roseburg stayed within one game of North Medford in the Southern Oregon Conference volleyball standings with a 15-10, 18-16 victory over third-place Ashland on Thursday. Roseburg senior outside hitter Megan Morley was too much for Ashland with 18 kills on the night. "Megan Morley was dominating for Roseburg," Ashland coach Josh Rolphing said. The Indians (20-4, 9-1 SOC) took advantage of Ashland�s inability to keep the ball in play and costly unforced errors in the first game. With Roseburg leading 12-10 in Game 1, junior Mary Junkin served three straight points to take the game. Junkin also had 34 assists in the match. Ashland, 6-4 in SOC, grabbed the momentum from Roseburg, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the second game. EAGLE POINT 15-17-15, KLAMATH UNION 5-19-6 � At Eagle Point, the Eagles picked up their second SOC win. Dani Rouhier led Eagle Point with 12 kills, while Kara Stuart added eight and Brynna Jacobson nine. Setter Aubrey Harrington had 31 assists for the Eagles. Kaylene Munson led Klamath Union with 17 kills, four blocks and eight digs. CRATER 15-15, GRANTS PASS 3-10 � At Central Point, Crater�s Janell Sapienza had 12 service points in the SOC win. The Comets jumped to a 9-0 lead in Game 1 en route to evening their conference record at 5-5. Erin Kinney added four kills in Game 1 for Crater. Skyline Conference PHOENIX 15-15, NORTH VALLEY 8-12 � At Phoenix, Sutton Jackson erupted for 11 kills and April Darby keyed Pirate defense in Skyline Conference play. Whitney Koston had seven kills and Megan Koston seven digs for the Knights. HENLEY 12-15-15, ROGUE RIVER 15-7-3 � At Rogue River, the Chieftains took the first game from the fourth-ranked Honkers, but couldn�t maintain the momentum in the Skyline Conference match. Kelly Simmons had eights kills and 22 digs to lead Rogue River. ILLINOIS VALLEY 15-15, HIDDEN VALLEY 7-7 � At Murphy, Hidden Valley remained winless in the Skyline Conference. Southern Cascade League CASCADE CHRISTIAN 15-15, RIDDLE 5-5 � At Central Point, outside hitter Kelly Clarke had five kills and two aces to lead Cascade Christian. Junior Whitney Brookins led the Challengers (12-3, 4-2 SCL) with 25 assists, and Cascade served 18 aces.
