Cadle will continue in dual finance roles Voters decided Tuesday that Gary Cadle of Medford will be the last elected Jackson County treasurer. But Cadle will continue in his dual role as finance director and treasurer. He has been finance director since 1981 and treasurer since 1994, after the two agencies were combined and Mary Jamison of Talent retired in the middle of her fourth term as treasurer. Measure 15-1 passed in partial unofficial returns, 18,665 to 15,825. By removing the treasurer as an elected official, it makes the first change in the county charter since voters approved the original in 1978. "Changing the charter is never easy, but I think the county has proven the benefits of having the treasurer and finance director merged into a single position," Cadle said Tuesday.
