Merlin shooting death under investigation By Mail Tribune staff Updated: May 05, 2022 04:21 PM A A A man was shot to death in Merlin April 26, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday. “Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and at no time was there a perceived threat to the community in relation to this incident,” according to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office Wednesday. Deputies found a man lying in a driveway in the 100 block of Ward Road in Merlin at 10:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound, the release said. Deputies provided CPR to the victim until medical personnel took over treatment of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
