This time of year, the folks at St. Vincent de Paul in Medford see a lot of need. So when a situation stands out, it’s for a good reason. That’s the case with a 43-year-old single mother of five kids, says an advocate for the agency. The family lives in Gold Hill, where the woman has been unable to find work. She’s a former landscaper, a hard worker willing to tackle almost any task. Taking care of kids ages 7, 11, 13, 15 and 17 is difficult enough. But the woman also is trying to find work in the larger Medford market. Her old car quit running a while back. Advertisement With no transportation, she’s been hitchhiking from Gold Hill to Medford and back again almost every day. This holiday season, a donation of a used car in decent condition would more than grant this woman’s wishes.
