THIRD PHASE FOR EXPANSION OF FM RADIO

Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether the Government is contemplating the third phase for expansion of FM Radio in small cities in the country; 
(b) if so, the details in this regard; ( 

(c) whether the Government proposes to set up a regulator in the broadcasting sector; 

(d) if so, the details thereof; and 


(e) the steps taken by the Government in this regard so far?

THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS (SHRI 2.२. DASMUNS)) 
(a) to (b) Policy for Phase Ill of FM Radio has not been formulated as yet. 


(c ) to (e) The Government has decided to set up a Broadcasting Regulatory Authority to regulate broadcasting services in India. A 
draft Bill is under preparation.
