Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether the Government has any plan to permit FM Radio Services in the private sector; 
(b) if so, the details thereof; and 


(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c ) Presently, twenty one private FM radio stations are in operation in the country. In addition, the Government has issued notice 
on 2/st September, 2005, inviting pre-qualification bids from Indian companies for setting up radio service on 338 FM channels in 9 
cities across the country.
