अतिबंध

क्या गृह मंत्री यह बताने को कृपा करेंगे किः
(क) क्या यह सच है कि दिल्ली पुलिस के होम
गार्ड विभाग में भारी वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के संबंध में
प्राप्त शिकायत को ध्यान में रखते हुए होम गार्डों की नई
भर्ती पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है;
(a) यदि हां, तो an पिछले अनेक वर्षों से हो
रही इन वित्तीय अनियमितताओं की जांच किए जाने के
आदेश दे दिए गए हें;
(ग) यदि हां, तो इस जांच का कार्यभार किस स्तर
के अधिकारी को सौंपा गया है;
(घ) क्या जांच-कार्य प्रारंभ कर दिया गया है;
(=) यदि हां, क्या जांच के दौरान कतिपय और
तथ्य भी प्रकाश में आए, हैं; और
(च) यदि हां, तो तत्संबंधी ब्योरा कया है और इस
जांच कार्य के कब तक पूरा हो जाने की संभावना है?

(ख) दिल्ली सरकार ने होम गार्ड और नागरिक
सुरक्षा महानिदेशालय के वर्ष 1993-94 और 1994-95
के लेखों की विशेष परीक्षा करने के आदेश दिए हैं।
(ग) इस विशेष लेखा परीक्षा दल में एक निरीक्षक
लेखा परीक्षा अधिकारी (वरिष्ठ लेखा अधिकारी) है,
जिनकी सहायता के लिए तीन कनिष्ठ लेखा अधिकारी
हैं।

6.7.95 से कार्य करना प्रारंभ कर दिया है और पूरी
तस्वीर इसकी रिपोर्ट पूरी होने पर उपलब्ध होने की

Plans to sect up Oranges Processing
Industries

Will the Minister of FOOD PROCES-
SING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) what are Government’s plans for
encouraging the setting up of processing
industries in the area of oranges;
(0) what are the prospects of this
industry; and
(c) how does our industry compare
with that of the orange processing indus-
tries in developing countries?
THE MINISTER OF STATE OF THE
MINISTRY OF FOOD PROCESSING
INDUSTRIES (SHRI TARUN
GOGOI): (a) While the Ministry of
Food Processing Industries is implement-
ing various plan schemes for the setting
up/development of fruit and vegetable
processing industries, there is no scheme
exclusively for oranges.
(b) The growth rate of Orange proces-
sing Industry has been negligible since
last many years.
(c) Indian Orange processing industry
does not compare favourably against the
developing countries like Brazil.
Water Purification Compaign for
Godavari River

WAMY: Will the Minister of ENVI-
RONMENT AND FORESTS be pleased
to state:
(3) what steps are proposed to develop
a water purification compaign for river
Godavari on the same lines as the Ganga
Project;
(b) whether any survey has been done
of the Godavari river from Polavaram to
Rajahmundry; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

THE MINISTER OF STATE OF THE
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND
FORESTS (SHRI KAMAL NATH):
(a) to (c) To assess the pollution load in
river Godavari, survey and investigations
were carried out by the Andhra Pradcsh
Government in May, 1994 in four towns,
namely. Bhadrachalam, Ramagundam,
Mancharial and Rajahmundry. These Sur-
veys indicated that the river was polluted
along those towns. Accordingly, the pol-
lution abatement programme of_ river
Godavari along those four towns has
been included in the National River Con-
servation Plan.
Electrification of Rail lines in Panjab

Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to

(a) whether Government have formu-
lated any time bound plan to electrify the

rail lines in the country particularly in the
State of Punjab;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the total kilometers under clectrifi-
cation in the country at present, State-
wise?
THE MINISTER OF RAILWAYS
(SHRI C.K. JAFFER SHARIEF): (a) to
{c) Electrification of railway tracks on
Indian Railways is a continuous process.
Electrification projects are undertaken on
techno-economic merits and operational
requirements on a net work basis. As
electrification projects are capital inten-
sive, only those broad gauge routes over
which the traffic density is high and the
return On investment is not Icss than the.
minimum prescribed are considered for
electrification.
