FM CHANNELS ON DOORDARSHAN 
CHANDRA NATH SINGH;SADASHIVRAO DADOBA MANDLIK 


Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether F.M. Channels have been opened on Doordarshan by the private operators to enable them to telecast their programmes; 
(b) if so, the details thereof, ( 
(c) the term and conditions therefor; and 


(d) their benefits to be accrued to the Government therefrom and the procedure laid down for putting a control on them? 


Answer 


THE MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (SHRI RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD) 


(a) & (0): Prasar Bharati have provided the infrastructure facilities viz. land and tower atDoordarshan sites, to three private FM 
operators in Delhi, four in Kolkata and two in Chennai. 


(c): Prasar Bharati is charging annual licence fee for its infrastructure as per norms of the Ministry of Finance. 


(d): Prasar Bharati is earning revenue from the annual licence fee, being charged in advance. In addition, security deposit equivalent 
to one year licence fee is also taken from each private operator.
