Water Purification Plants

Will the Minister of PLANNING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether the Government proposes to install Community Water Purification Plants (CWPPs) in arsenic and fluoride affected areas 
in the country, if so, the details there of; 


(b) whether NITI Aayog is providing Rs. ,000 crores to various States which are suffering due to excess content of arsenic and 
fluoride in water, if so, the details thereof; and 


(c) whether Government proposes to provide amount to districts which are severely affected with arsenic and fluoride in groundwater, 
if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) Yes, Madam. 


There are 327 arsenic affected and 204 fluoride affected habitations in the country. The number of arsenic and fluoride affected 
habitations State-wise is at Annexure. 


The proposal of NITI Aayog aims to provide one-time assistance to the States having arsenic and fluoride affected habitations. 
Further, State Governments will be providing assistance to arsenic/fluoride affected districts/habitations in their States.
