IMPLEMENTATION GRANTS PASS SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY ACTION PLAN Although challenging, the goal of Net -Zero emissions by 2045 is achievable. This stage will require the city to make an additional 4% drop from the 2040 goal.112 The timeline laid out by this Plan has the following taking place during this time period:Pathway from 90% Reductions to Net-Zero by 2045 Accomplishing these steps is projected to produce a final 14% reduction in emissions and about $40K in annual energy costs.113 This would result in reaching a 101% reduction from 2021 emissions levels by 2045, and $876,306 in annual savings – less than a 30% increase from the 2021 base rate.114 The buffer between the total and the 10% needed for goal achievement should be sufficient to account for any increases due to population change, or delays in Pacific Power’s own transition. 92 T-2-3 Additional Installations of Heavy -Duty Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (likely something different than electric, perhaps renewable hydrogen ) BE-6-5 Evaluate More City Property for Renewable Energy Generation PotentialBE-1-3 Complete Heating Systems ElectrificationBE-1-6 Investigate Additional Opportunities for Improving Energy EfficiencyT-1-3 Transition Remaining Heavy Duty/Specialty Vehicles to ZEVs (currently about 12 vehicles)
