I was talking to an editor at New York Magazine who has worked closely with Connolly in the past who says
that Connolly was famous for stories that could not be verified and so hence had to be closely legaled and
invariably paired back. Hence, most of Connolly's work ended up being merely other published sources repeated
and his own reporting eliminated in the final work.
