Garcia-Flores was voted the SOC player of the year. Andrew Mariman | Ashland Daily Tidings Senior striker Fabian Garcia-Flores earned player-of-the-year honors, while head coach Eisa Tiaa Toutou was named coach of the year. Five Grizzlies garnered first-team all-conference status - more than any other SOC program - and a sixth Grizz was a second-team selection in the awards. Senior midfielder Corey Costantino, junior midfielder Cory Fisher, senior striker Thomas Golding and senior defender Cory Lescher made the first-team list with Garcia, who was one of four players unanimously chosen for first-team all-conference. Max Brown, and Devin Torrey of North Medford, as well as Scotty Marlow of South Medford were the other unanimous honorees. Junior defender Nico Walker made the all-conference second-team. He and Fisher were the only two non-seniors to be named to either the first or second team. North Medford led the lists with eight players selected for honors. South had seven and Ashland six. The Grizzlies (13-2) continue their state title hunt this afternoon against Mountain View of Bend. The Intermountain League runner-up fell 2-0 to Ashland in a preseason, non-conference match. The game will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Ashland Middle School upper field. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students, children and seniors because it is a playoff match. Four Grizzlies get honors On the girls' side, Grizz senior defender Sylvia VanAusdal and junior striker Jamie Roupp brought home second-team all-conference accolades. Senior defender Laura Newton and junior midfielder Maddie Stokes were honorable mentions. Roseburg forward Carli Godard was the SOC female player of the year and Indian coach Bryce Martin earned coach-of-the-year status.
