The day begins with the Ashland Parks and Recreation Fourth of July Run , kicking off near the Ashland library.  The Ashland Chamber of Commerce-sponsored parade, featuring nearly 80 community, family and business entries, will begin at 10 a.m. this year at Triangle Park and progress down Siskiyou Boulevard and East Main Street towards the Plaza. For parade entries building their floats to showcase the theme this year — "Be Active, Live Healthy" — parade applications are available on our website at www.ashlandchamber.com. We encourage parade floats to be creative in the way they share their message, keeping in mind to lessen their impact of trash and what is left behind once the parade ends. Festivities throughout Lithia Park ensue all afternoon, featuring handmade craft items, food booths and live music at the Butler band shell. The event concludes with magic. The Ashland Chamber’s public fireworks display erupts with color and fills the night sky beginning at 10 p.m. from the SOU athletic fields and can be seen from most places around town. Consider attending the American Band College Fireworks Concer t while watching the fireworks.  Free, community driven Fourth of July celebrations are becoming less common across the country as expenses for things like liability insurance, security and professional fireworks continue to rise. The Ashland Chamber of Commerce is committed to continuing the tradition of Ashland’s community celebration and is asking you to partner with us to make it happen. You and your business can be a vital part of Ashland’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration by sponsoring the event.
