--> --> LaWanda `Jean' Maury LaWanda Jean Maury, 77, of Medford and formerly of Ashland, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001 at Edgewood Home Care in Medford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Medford. Rev. Alan Jackson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillah Shriners Children's Hospital, 955 N. Phoenix Rd., Medford, Ore. 97504, or to Southern Oregon Human Society, 2910 Table Rock Rd., Medford, Ore. 97501. Mrs. Maury was born Aug. 19, 1924 in Denver, Colo., to David and Anona Vorhess. She attended Klamath High School. On April 25, 1966 in Reno, Nevada she married Cecil Joel Bell who preceded her in death in 1978. On Sept. 8, 1984 in Medford, she married Alfred Emil Maury who preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Maury lived in the Ashland and Medford areas for 36 years. She worked as an office manager for Simms Electronic. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, and Amaranth. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, and singing in the church choir. Her cousin Betty (Roper) Phillips of Corvallis, Ore., survives. She was preceded in death by two husbands. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillcrest Mortuary in Medford. Email your...
