Paul Mendez, 47, was lodged into the Jackson County Jail in Medford on charges of first degree sodomy, first degree sexual abuse, and attempted first degree sodomy. OSP detectives said the investigation revealed that Mendez abused a male juvenile over an extended period of time. In an effort to identify additional victims, anyone having information on criminal activity involving Mendez is asked to connect the OSP at 776-6114 Ext. 253. Ashland Police & Fire 12:37 a.m. Thursday - Central Point man , 48, arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near the 100 block of East Main Street. 9:42 p.m. Wednesday - A man was found passed out near the tennis courts on Homes Street. The man was too intoxicated to care for himself and lodged at the detoxification center in Medford. 4:45 p.m. Wednesday - A ring valued at $145.85 was removed from a mailbox on the 800 block of Hillview Drive. 2:31 p.m. Wednesday - Male transient, 32, cited for obstructing a passageway on North Main Street, 9 a.m. Wednesday - A portion of the sidewalk on the 700 block of A Street was spray painted with anti-law enforcement graffiti. Damage estimated at $90.
