--> --> March 18: SOU Tennis Ashland Daily Tidings At Portland, the Raiders women's tennis team earned road victories over Pacific and Lewis and Clark over the weekend to snap a two-match losing streak and improve to 8-3. Southern swept Pacific 9-0 on Saturday at Forest Grove, then won all three doubles matches en route to a 6-3 win Sunday over Lewis and Clark. The win over Pacific was even more dominant than the team score indicated. The Raiders didn't drop a set to the Boxers, resoundingly ending coach Gail Patton's first two-dual losing streak in her four years at the school. Top singles player Bridget Wagner led the way with an easy 6-2, 6-0 win over Fema Koba. At No. 2 singles, SOU's Kristen Maloney defeated Josie Vu, 6-1, 6-2. In the closest match of the day, Maloney teamed up with Julie Nelson to beat Koba and Lei Tokuda 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Next up for the Raiders is a Friday dual against George Fox, at Ashland. The Raiders have three duals left before taking off for the NAIA regional meet, April 26-27 at Lewiston, Idaho. Email your...
