--> --> Rockslide work will cost Talent $12,000 Ashland Daily Tidings TALENT - The rockslide over Memorial Day weekend that threatened the new city reservoir is costing the city about $12,000, according to city officials. Last month, a slope failure on the back side of the reservoir sparked the landslide. Though no damage was done to the reservoir, the cost of blasting large boulders and removing the rubble must be assumed, City Administrator Kelly Madding. The reservoir, located adjacent to the city's current water reservoir on Bellknap Road, was built as part of the city's connection to the Medford water system. The cities of Phoenix, Talent and Ashland split the cost of the project to install a pipeline along Highway 99 from Medford to the edge of Talent. Though Phoenix and Talent plan to utilize the system as soon as construction is complete, the City of Ashland will not connect right away. Construction is slated to conclude in February.
