--> --> Johns takes sixth at 4A state meet Ashland Daily Tidings CORVALLIS - Ashland High freshman Stephanie Johns shot a 76 in Day 2 of the Class 4A girls state golf meet Tuesday to finish tied for sixth overall at Trysting Tree Golf Club. The Grizzlies finished the meet with a team score of 781, 16th place in the 18-team field. Bend won the team title with a combined 647, 13 strokes better than second-place Barlow, and Lincoln's Cassie Castleman was the individual champion with a two-day total of 150. Johns shaved six strokes off her Round 1 score of 82 and ended up with a final two-day stroke count of 158. Bianca Montagnino fired an 87, three strokes better than her opening-day 90, to come in second among Grizzlies with a two-day total of 177. Also for Ashland, Kelly Thompson carded a 109 for a total of 212, and Emiko Kimura shot a 112 for a final score of 234. Johns was the highest placing golfer from the Southern Oregon Conference.
