Women with Wings to perform concert Women with Wings will perform their annual concert entitled "Singing For The Love Of Life" at 7 p.m. May 3 in the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Siskiyou and Walker in Ashland. Drawn together by their love of singing, Women with Wings began in the fall of 1995 to learn songs that inspired and moved them. Since then, the group has performed at various events in the community and offered an annual concert. The group chose their name by taking part of the lyrics from two favorite songs: "There's a river of birds in migration, a nation of women with wings" and "I keep wanting to spread my arms wide like wings, breathe deep, and sing for my life, sing for the earth, sing, sing, sing." Resonating to a strong feminist vision, Women with Wings was founded on the principle that you should "always encourage the women next to you to sing." For many members the experience of singing with the chorus has allowed them to rediscover their own musical voices, to sing from their hearts and join with one another in creating beauty, harmony and fun. The public is invited to tap into their energizing spirit of community at their concert, "Singing For The Love Of Life." LINKS: REVELS: Main | Calendar | Dining | Movies | T.V.
