PianoVoce is an ensemble of five performers from Northern California, specializing in seldom-heard, intimate music for piano duet and for piano and voice. The group is composed of two pianists, a tenor and a narrator, and has recently added a clarinetist to the mix. Sunday's concert will feature works for piano four-hands by Brahms and Corigliano, songs by Brahms and Menotti and sonatas for clarinet and piano by Brahms and Bernstein. This is a return engagement for the group, following three previous, highly-acclaimed concerts at the Unitarian Center. The pianists are former staff accompanists from Humboldt State University in California, Annette Gurnée Hull and Nancy Correll. Tenor Kevin Sharkey studied vocal performance at HSU, and clarinetist Virginia Ryder has played with the Boston, Denver and Pittsburgh Symphonies. The program will be narrated by Richard Duning, a Humboldt County artist. The concert will be at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, at the corner of 4th and C streets in Ashland.
