Ellen T. Stevens A memorial service for Ellen Taylor Stevens will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church, Ashland. Pastor Scott Delgarno of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. A private family inurnment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Mrs. Stevens, 69, of Ashland, died Monday, July 7, 2003 at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Chapter EE PEO Memorial Endowment, c/o Southern Oregon University Foundation, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, Ore. 97520, or the First Presbyterian Church Music Fund, P.O. Box 626, Ashland, Ore. 97520. She was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Mobile, Ala., to Ellen and William Taylor Jr. She graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tenn., in 1951, and attended East Tennessee State University. On Nov. 23, 1954, in Wiesboden, Germany, she married John Rodney "Rod" Stevens, who survives. Following Mr. Stevens' career as a U.S. Army officer in the Corps of Engineers, and five years in Steamboat Springs, Colo., the family moved to Ashland in 1976. Mrs. Stevens was involved in the First Presbyterian Church, Chapter EE of the PEO Sisterhood, the Tudor Guild, Fortnightly Study Club and other small groups. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Laura Williamson, Lake Oswego, and Libby Hughes, North Bend; a son, John R. Stevens Jr., Portland; a sister, Lee Taylor Thomas, Portland; and four grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ashland. Marjorie Jo Clark Marjorie Jo Clark, 62, of Medford, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford. A private service will be held. She was born Jan. 20, 1941, in Grants Pass, to Bonnie and Ed Cooper. She was raised in Glendale and Medford and graduated from Crater High School in 1959. On Nov. 7, 1959, in Reno, Nev., she married William George Clark who survives. Mrs. Clark worked at Harry and David for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, mushroom hunting, antiques and growing house plants. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Bill, Eugene, Jim, Hyatt Lake, and Steve, Medford; two brothers, Cliff Cooper, Medford and Bob Cooper, Seattle; two sisters, Linda Moore, Seattle, and Alice Salomon, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Arrangements are under Litwiller -Simonsen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ashland.
